Storage

Enterprise storage is not just capacity — performance (IOPS and latency), availability and room to grow matter just as much. This section covers SAN and NAS arrays, controllers, SAS and NVMe drives and Fibre Channel optics. For an accurate design, include the usable capacity you need, the connectivity (FC, iSCSI or SAS) and your data growth rate in the request.

Storage: supplied on request

No products from this category are listed online yet, but we can supply them through our partner network and international sourcing. Send the model or part number to get a USD price and lead time.

Check any part number straight from the vendor

Specs come from HPE PartSurfer and the official Cisco, Dell, Lenovo, Juniper, Fortinet, APC sites and more — including HPE spare-part lists — and you can request a USD price with the Toman equivalent right there.

Choosing Storage: what to check

Points worth knowing before you buy or request a quote. Any other questions can go in the request form for our technical partners to answer.

SAN or NAS?

A SAN provides block access and suits databases and virtualization datastores. A NAS provides file access (SMB/NFS) and is simpler for file shares, archives and backup. Many current arrays do both.

Fibre Channel or iSCSI?

FC gives a dedicated fabric with low, predictable latency but needs its own switches and HBAs. iSCSI runs over standard Ethernet with lower upfront cost; on 10/25 GbE with a separate storage network it is enough for most organizations.

Which RAID level?

RAID 10 has the best write performance but uses half the raw capacity. RAID 6 is safer than RAID 5 on large drives because it survives two simultaneous failures. Check usable capacity with our RAID calculator.

Must drives match the array brand?

On most enterprise arrays, yes — the controller only accepts drives with the vendor's qualified firmware and carrier. Find the exact part number in the array's compatibility list, or include the array model in your request.
